U8, U9 and U10 teams will have up to 2 practices each week. TYPICALLY on Monday's and Wednesday but could be on a Tuesday and Thursday depending on the volunteer coaches' availability.

All teams U11 and above practice twice per week (see below). The times and locations are determined by coach request and field availability.

In general, we schedule practices based on the what days teams will have games. While subject to change and availability, this is how teams will be assigned practice days/time slots:

  • Teams U13 and under will be prioritized at the first time slot on a field

  • U5, U6, U7 (Micro) teams have games on Saturday mornings (no practices)

  • U8, U9, U0, U11, U12 and U13 boys and girls TYPICALLY practice: Mon and Wed, but could be on a Tuesday and Thursday depending on the volunteer coaches' availability (games Saturdays)

  • U14, U15, U16 U17 and U18 Boys TYPICALLY practice: Tues and Thurs, but could be on a Monday and Wednesday depending on the volunteer coaches' availability (games Sundays)

  • U14 and U15 Girls typically practice: Mon and Wed, but could be on a Tuesday and Thursday depending on the volunteer coaches' availability (games Saturday)

  • U16, U17 and U18 Girls typically practice: Tues and Thurs, but could be on a Monday and Wednesday depending on the volunteer coaches' availability  (games Sunday)

  • Girls Select teams typically practice: Mon/Wed (games Saturday)

  • U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 Boys typically practice: Mon and Wed (games Saturday)

  • U15, U16, U17 and U18 Boys typically practice: Tues/Thurs (games Sunday)

  • Please note in 2023 Select teams will most likely practice on Tues/Thurs in the Summer months due to field availability.

The following guidelines are used to prioritize requests in situations where requests exceed available field resources for a given time period (eg. Tuesday & Thursday evenings turf & grass):

  1. Clinics - club sponsored clinics (eg. fall MOD clinic, keeper clinics).

  2. Coaching multiple teams - logistical reasons as well acknowledging extra contributions coaching two teams.

  3. Board membership - acknowledging coach or spouse of a coach for contributions to the broader club made as a board member. Includes non-board members who actively attend board meetings and provide on-going benefit to the club (eg. webmaster).

  4. Saturday versus Sunday games - teams with Sunday games typically get Tue/Thu practice priority to allow rest on Monday (injury prevention/recovery time). Teams that play on turf will practice on turf as much as possible given the club's allocations.

  5. Age - U14 and younger given priority for early time slots (school, homework, bedtime considerations) and U15 and older teams the later time slots (after school activities, jobs, etc.).

  6. Other volunteer contributions - generally one-off contributions (eg. 50th Anniversary), not long-term or on-going.

  7. Coaches who are referees - provides benefit to the club's overall referee in the pool standing within EYSA.
